After Graduating from Cardiff College of Art in 1973 Chris came to the South Hams in Devon to teach art. Later, he moved to the Tamar Valley for several years, before returning to the South Hams. Throughout these years of teaching he has always been aware of and inspired by the stunning beauty of the south-west. In his spare time he would explore coast, moor and rivers, to seek out and record those images that excited him most. Now, having left teaching in 2006, he is revelling in the extra studio hours available to him to paint. This has enabled him to exhibit more and to hear the public's response to his work. He has been heartened by their compliments, especially from other professional artists. " HIs oil paintings stand out in their clarity and honesty, pulling the observer into their reflection of time and place.
